Journey

Ohio people are great

Sun, 2010-03-21

So it was Sunday and still gorgeous weather in NYC. I talked to my family in the morning and left our flat later on, heading up again to Manhattan.

This time I took the Brooklyn bridge. I walked around Ground Zero and along the Broadway. I got some running shoes at Union Square. Asiscs GT 2150 for 55 Euro. That is amazing. These shoes cost about 120 Euros in Austria.

Later on I went up again Rockefeller Center. I met 3 cool, nice and funny students from Ohio. We hat so much fun and spent the rest of the afternoon together.

Brooklyn and Manhattan

Fri, 2010-02-26

I spent the first 4 days in New York to get settled down. I walked a lot in Brooklyn and went also to Manhattan twice. Unfortunately the weather was really bad at the first 2 days. Look at the pictures. There was plenty of snow here in NY.

Some shops and also the CHASE bank were closed on Friday. So I went on Saturday again in town to open a bank account.

First day in the states

Sun, 2010-04-25

After an 8 hours flight and approximately a bottle of red vine, I arrived safely at the Newark International Airport in New Jersey. It was already half past 7 PM when I left the airport.

I took the bus, train and subway to Brooklyn to reach my current accommodation at Bergen Street, Brooklyn in New York.

Megan was waiting for me. I reached the flat at 9 P.M. and was already pretty tired. It was 3 o'clock in the morning according European Mean Time. I talked with Megan and Aurore - the other roommate from France - and went to bed at midnight.
