EnergyHub goes Prospect Park
Wed, 2010-04-07Due the hot weather this week, EnergyHub went to Prospect Park for a pic nic.
Once again we had nice weather in New York, almost 88 F. After lunch we played some games and went to a pub later on.
Central Park (again) and Coney Island
Sat, 2010-04-03Once again I spent a Saturday in Central Park. Weather was awesome. I met Maike again, which I know since the weeked at SixFlags entertainment park.
Later on we met some friends of here and tried to go out in Manhattan. Unfortunately one of us was under 21, so we had some troubles getting into a bar.
Sunday was awesome weather too. After running in the Prospect Park I went to Coney Island to meet the girls from the day before.
Six Flags Entertainment Park
Sat, 2010-03-27
On Friday night I took the train down to Edison / New Jersey to meet my study colleague Christian. I stayed overnight at his flat and we had nice accompany ....
and some good vine ....
Saturday we got up early and went further south to the SixFlags Entertainment Park. I was quite cold and I was happy to borrow some warm clothes.
4th week
Fri, 2010-03-264 weeks of my internship at EnergyHub are already over.
It was a busy week and a great weather to work. (In fact it was quite cold and raining a lot on Monday and Tuesday).
As I wrote before, I am having a great time in the company.
I found a new flat for April and May and will leave my current one at the beginning of April. I am looking forward to move and hope to stay further in touch with my current roommates.
...Ohio people are great
Sun, 2010-03-21So it was Sunday and still gorgeous weather in NYC. I talked to my family in the morning and left our flat later on, heading up again to Manhattan.
This time I took the Brooklyn bridge. I walked around Ground Zero and along the Broadway. I got some running shoes at Union Square. Asiscs GT 2150 for 55 Euro. That is amazing. These shoes cost about 120 Euros in Austria.
Later on I went up again Rockefeller Center. I met 3 cool, nice and funny students from Ohio. We hat so much fun and spent the rest of the afternoon together.
Another great day in Manhattan
Sat, 2010-03-20I left the flat on 9 AM Saturday morning. It was such a beautiful day and we had about 74 degrees Fahrenheit. I walked over the Manhattan bridge to NYC.
I took the ferry to Staten Island to get another view of Manhattan. Awesome, Great. It is really hard to describe how nice it was on Saturday.
Later on I met Christian, my study colleague, and we spent the rest of the day together.
Worst day in my life
Mon, 2010-03-15
Do you know these days where everything goes wrong?
Where the whole world or maybe the whole universe is against you?
Nothing seems to work and you just want to disappear ...
Yeah I can tell you, I had such a day last Monday.
I woke up and went to the company, not knowing what will happen that day. I reached EnergyHub at 9 AM and stayed there for almost 9 hours. It was terrible. I was working on a serious bug and I could not find the error. I really wasted my time. I was frustrated and so I decided to walk home at about 6 PM.
...Austrians in New York - Part III aka Central Park West
Sun, 2010-03-07Beautiful Sunday. No snow. About 15 degrees Celsius. I woke up at 8 AM and went running in the Prospect Park (Brooklyn).
Later on I took the subway to Central Park West and met Alex and Claudia. We had breakfast and walked later on through Central Park. I was quite busy there, because a lot of people used the beautiful sunday to spend some hours in the Park.
Alex left us at 3 PM and I went shopping later on (Besides hundreds of other stores there are also a couple of H&M in NY).
Austrians in New York - Part II
Sat, 2010-03-06After only 4 hours of sleep I got up at 7:30. We booked the Statue of Liberty Island tour which started at 9 AM. After an hot coffee from Starbucks (there are plenty of these stores in NY) we went on the ferry. There is a boat trip from Manhattan to Liberty Island. We walked around the island and took some photos from Mrs. Liberty. Contrary to the girls I and Alex could not go inside the statue.
Later on we went to Ellis Island - the former immigration point of the United States. It was not so spectacular and so we went back to Manhattan.
Austrians in New York - Part I
Fri, 2010-03-05Friday Night Alex came to New York for a weekend. Although he is from Austria, he currently lives in L.A. I know him from my university. He has graduated 2008 (Masters Degree).
